What Constitutes Good Design?

What constitutes good design to me depends on what the object is. For textile design I enjoy bright colors and fun patterns but I think that is not as good for package design where legibility is key. When it comes to furniture I think the best designs can be utilitarian however I really enjoy rococo mirrors and wing back chairs which are really more about the aesthetic of the object then the function of it. When I think of furniture and clothing design that I like it often comes to I like objects that have some kind of complex aspect whether it be the highly functional utilitarian or fairly simple with complex patterns I find I am drawn to complexities in one way or another. On the other hand when it comes to package design or marketing or even something as simple as resume designs I favor clean minimalistic design. Some of my favorite design choices when it comes to this is the use of color blocking and clean font or color pops like using black, white, and a color is my favorite. Overall I can’t say I have a single favorite style but I really love functional pretty furniture and clothes with pockets in their design and clean accessible package design.
